A few years ago, an agent called us up asking if we did session work. Having informed him that we had all done so at various  times we agreed a price for the work to be quoted to the client. The agent had already given the whole thing an air of mystery by saying the work would be for someone who used to be famous but that we could'nt be told until we had the job.

On Friday evening, we were told that we would be in the studio that Monday and that we were going to be singing on a track for Jeff Beck's new album "Jeff".

We ended up doing various vocal arrangements on a track called "Hotrod Honeymoon", some of which are on the track, others which did not appear on the final mix.

To our delight, Jeff was in the studio and was courteous and gentlemanly at all times and was happy to have his photo taken with us.

“The main riff was played on a Strat, and the slide bit on a Tele,” says Beck. “That was just a whim that I had, and I came up with the bare bones of it—a summery, Beach Boys-type thing. We brought in a Beach Boys tribute band called the Beached Boys to record the harmony vocals. Originally, we sampled the dialogue off a compilation CD of really bad hotrod movies. It sounded cool, but we didn’t want to pay royalties, so we got professional voice-over artists to redo it.”
